This scrumptious fall collection from Shu Uemura definitely appeals to the Curator's sweet tooth and appreciation for beautifully packaged chocolate. "Fadeless blissful memories reawake with a mystic marriage of sweetness.
shu uemura offers you a choco-inspired make-up collection, evoking
joyful memories in your life; celebrate the present moment to write your
own blissful story." The stand-outs of the collection were the palettes, which were inspired by sumptuous chocolate delicacies.
Here's the Mint and Vanilla palette.

There was also an Orange and Pistachio palette, but at $65 a pop I could only get 2 of the 3 – I would love to have all of them, of course!

I consider Shu and NARS to be the kings of innovative combinations of both color and texture, and these palettes are no exception. But I think they're made even more appealing by the fact that they do resemble lavish chocolates neatly lined up. Compare the gold flourishes to the gorgeous designs on these chocolates by Richart:

Overall, I think this is a sophisticated and elegant way of translating chocolate into makeup. It's not so literal that it makes one hungry – it's just reminiscent enough of chocolate. What do you think? And are you a chocoholic?
