Quick post: still stuck on repeat

I complained back in the fall about major cosmetics lines re-issuing newer editions of previous releases or using older collections' themes and presenting them as new.  Sadly, the trend continues this year.  While the majority of Stila's spring lineup features new and exciting products, I am dismayed at the palette offerings.

These have basically the same illustrations as last year's Not So Nude palette:

Additionally, Sephora is taking advantage of its successful Disney/Cinderella fall 2012 collection by coming up with a Jasmine-themed collection this season.

There are so many original designs I can think of off the top of my head, especially for spring, so why are these companies just reworking old ideas?  My guess is that the older items were best-sellers, so building on them would result in surefire sales.  However, I also think companies could introduce new designs – things the customer hasn't seen before from that particular brand – and turn a tidy profit that way.  In any case, it's disappointing to the see the same old thing.
